This is an all over floral design Kurdish rug from the early 1900s. It is on a deep indigo blue backdrop. It is a tribal rug that was hand knotted by Kurdish weavers, a very small minority in areas that are north.
Kurdish rugs are also known to be stout and solid! You can definitely feel the lamb's wool on this fine rug. The age and wear shows its great age with loads of cool character. You can also see the amazing variation of all the organic dyes in this rug. It is in good condition and ready for a home with tons of life left in it to go!
