This is a magnificent and over a century old Malayer from the Hamadan region of Persia. It is on a deep midnight blue ground with a water garden design. The elements woven in are fish. Woven with all natural dyes and old world wool that has beautifully aged.
Malayer is a village in Northwest Persia and is known to have produced really decorative rugs that are great investments for a home. The wool of this rug is highly durable, strong, and a rug to be enjoyed for decades to come.
