Behold this gorgeous antique 1930s Art Deco Chinese rug on a warm ivory ground, featuring two graceful cranes in all their splendor surrounded by cherry blossom trees and other foliage. It's the first we've seen of its kind and are proud to have it in the collection as it is a rare sighting indeed! The neutral background brings a sense of balance and harmony and will complement other elements of a room. The bold diamond shape motif in the border band is a classic pattern that frames this lovely rug flawlessly.
Handwoven from wool that was dyed using natural resources such as plants, flowers, and vegetables; the knots are densely packed, making the rug extremely durable. The full pile and plush texture will elevate any room it is placed in, adding a touch of elegance. Although there is some minor loss of wool in the top field (please see pictures for more details), this beauty is in amazing condition and will bring a sophistication to any space it resides in.
